moving forward.

i've always had this "bahala na" mentality. (for those of you who aren't pilipino; bahalana means "whatever happens, happens.") i always believed that. because, bottom line is... it's true. there's no un-doing anything, there's no re-doing anything. and i'll be damned if i live a life filled with regrets.

but when alex asked me, "how secure do you feel about your future?" i couldn't reply with, "whatever happens, happens." that's definitely an irresponsible and careless answer. not that the way i think and live is wrong, but with certain aspects of my life, i have to take responsibility for outcomes. for example, if ten years from now i was homeless and alone there has to have been something that i did (or possibly didn't do) for shit to end up that way.

tomorrow isn't promised, but for most people... there is one. and there's a day after that, too. so even though shits not set in stone, you still have to make plans, set goals and work hard every day. that's where my bahalana mentality comes in. you made plans, and they didn't fall through? bahalana. taking you forever to reach your goal, but you're working hard and trying your best? bahalana. the way i see it is if you're doing your part, doing your best and contributing to the outcome that you want... then you're doing everything in your power to secure your future.

as far as me personally. i love life. especially mine. why would i wanna fuck it up? i feel one hundred percent secure with my future, because i've secured it. i've put faith in myself, i trust my heart and i know i'm (usually) smart. so i've made my plans, i've set my goals and everyday is a new one for me to shine in. and now, whatever happens... happens.
